The cool morning breeze blew through the camp as General Dwight David Eisenhower began the most captivating and motivational speech of all time. Just hours before the invasion at Normandy, the soldiers gathered around Eisenhower. “We will accept nothing less than total victory”, he exclaimed. They knew that they probably would not return, yet they were prepared for battle. As the troops began to bundle up the rest of their things, Eisenhower went on to say, “Your task will not be an easy one, your enemy is trained well, and well equipped. He will fight savagely.” At that moment a fire began to run wildly in the stomachs of each officer and soldier. When the General was finished giving his speech, a cheer broke out amongst the crowd as they made their final preparations. The troops camouflaged their faces and tightened their boot laces.
